Health Initiatives provides a variety of nutrition-related programs, presentations, and events every semester. Learn about how to build a healthy plate in the dining locations across campus, navigate the grocery store, and make the most of the seasonal flavors. The team can also bring pre-planned or custom experiences to your next meeting or class.

Health Initiatives offers pre-planned and custom presentation experiences for employees and students. Our pre-planned presentations include:

  • Nutrition 101:  This session introduces the basic concepts of nutrition and wellness through an interactive game designed to debunk common nutrition myths
  • Eating on a Budget:  This session explores how to eat well while managing the balance between time and money. 
  • Body Image and Disordered Eating:  Learn more about society’s and our own influences on body image, and how it can affect self-worth, eating, and activity habits.  *Trigger warning- Disordered eating diagnoses are explored and described, and resources for seeking help are provided.
  • Health Myths and Realities: Learn the truth about weight status, BMI, and the "obesity epidemic".
  • Intuitive Eating: This session introduces the 10 principles of Intuitive Eating. Designed for individuals wishing to explore and discuss their relationship with food, dieting and/or body image.
  • Q & A with a Dietitian: For a more flexible event or time frame, have a dietitian come to your group to answer your specific nutrition questions and concerns.

Programs are a minimum of 45 minutes.
